Summary

Naomi is currently one of the leaders of the exBorg colony with Kaelara and Aximo.

Appearance

Naomi’s physical appearance is that of a human woman in her mid-30s, with several distinctive features that set her apart. Her face is heart-shaped, with high cheekbones and a pointed chin. Her bright green eyes are almond-shaped and slanted upwards, giving her an exotic and striking appearance. Her eyebrows are thick and expressive, often furrowed in concentration as she navigates the complexities of her own thoughts.

Naomi’s hair is a rich, dark brown color that falls in loose, curly waves down her back. Her hair is long, reaching down to the middle of her back, and is often worn loose, framing her face with soft, gentle curls. This hairstyle adds to her natural beauty, accentuating her striking features and drawing attention to her bright, expressive eyes.

Naomi’s physique is slender and athletic, with a toned and muscular build that speaks to her Starfleet training. Her skin is smooth and unblemished, with a warm, golden undertone that hints at her mixed heritage. However, despite her seemingly human appearance, subtle inconsistencies in Naomi’s physiology betray her Borg origins. Her eyes seem to flicker with a faint, mechanical glow, a residual effect of her time as a Borg drone.

This mechanical glow is a subtle reminder of Naomi’s complex and troubled past. Her skin is also slightly pale, with a subtle, almost imperceptible sheen that hints at the presence of Borg implants beneath the surface. These inconsistencies are subtle, but they serve as a reminder of the experiences that have shaped Naomi into the person she is today. Despite these physical reminders of her past, Naomi’s overall appearance is one of strength, resilience, and determination.

Personality

Naomi’s personality is a complex and multifaceted blend of curiosity, introspection, and determination. She is a deeply curious and introspective individual, driven to understand the intricacies of her own mind and the universe around her. Her experiences as a Borg drone have left her with a unique perspective on the nature of identity and consciousness. She is constantly seeking to learn more about herself and the world, often finding herself lost in thought as she grapples with the fragmented memories of her past.

Naomi’s past as a Borg drone continues to haunt her, with fragmented memories and strange visions often intruding on her waking thoughts. She experiences auditory hallucinations, echoes of the Borg Collective’s relentless voice, reminding her of her time as a drone. These memories and visions serve as a constant reminder of the trauma she endured and the struggles she faces in rebuilding her sense of self. Despite the challenges she faces, Naomi is determined to move forward, using her experiences to inform and guide her as she navigates the complexities of her own mind.

Naomi’s determination is evident in her every action, as she strives to reconnect with her humanity and find a new purpose in life. She is driven by a fierce resilience, refusing to let her experiences as a Borg drone define her. Naomi’s journey is marked by an inner conflict between her past and present selves. She struggles to reconcile the memories of her life before assimilation with the experiences she had as a Borg drone. This conflict often leaves her feeling lost and uncertain, as she grapples with the question of who she truly is.

Despite this uncertainty, Naomi remains committed to her journey, determined to find a way to integrate her past and present selves into a cohesive whole. As she navigates the complexities of her own mind, she is slowly beginning to discover a new sense of purpose and identity. Her experiences as a Borg drone have given her a unique perspective on the universe, and she is learning to harness this perspective to forge a new path forward. Through her journey, Naomi is coming to realize that her true strength lies not in her past or her present, but in her capacity for growth, self-discovery, and resilience.

History

USS Columbia, NCC-71102 (2366 to 2367)

Naomi was an Ensign when she served on the USS Columbia. Admiral Hanson handpicked her from the Academy when she graduated. The Admiral was very impressed with her grades and her determination to succeed. She joined the crew of the USS Columbia in 2366. She carried out her duties with honor and distinction.

During the Borg invasion of 2367, the USS Columbia was the flagship for the Federation fleet that was organized to counter an invading Borg Cube that was headed to Earth. Naomi was one of only a small handful of officers who were beamed off the ship during the Battle of Wolf 359.

Assimilation and Life as a Borg Drone (2367 to 2378)

She was assimilated and after the battle at Wolf 359, Naomi was transported back to the Delta Quadrant via a transwarp conduit, where she continued to serve the Borg Collective. She was given the Borg designation, “One Of Eight Primary Adjunct Of Trimatrix 14” and became a drone, stripped of her individuality and humanity. When the Queen was killed in 2378, she managed to break free from the Collective and escaped the Borg by commandeering a probe ship and used its transport warp coil to get to the Beta Quadrant.

Once in the Beta Quadrant, she started her new life as a human, or as human as she could get. This is when she really struggled with life. While Naomi was a drone, she experienced a rare phenomenon known as “Borg nostalgia.” Despite being assimilated, she retained memories of her life before assimilation, a fact that would later play a significant role in her journey towards reclaiming her humanity. When she was free of the Collective, all that grief of what she was forced to do for the Borg rushed back at her, like a broken dam.

When the Borg Queen was killed in the Delta Quadrant, Naomi was freed from the Collective’s control. However, her journey towards rediscovering her humanity was not without its challenges. Struggling to come to terms with her past and her newfound individuality, Naomi found solace in the guidance of Annika Hansen, another former Borg drone who had found her way back to humanity. With Hansen’s mentorship, Naomi began to reconnect with her human emotions and experiences, slowly rebuilding her sense of self.

As Naomi continued on her path towards reclaiming her humanity, her Borg implants were modified to resemble organic tissue, allowing her to blend in with human societies. This physical transformation marked a significant milestone in Naomi’s journey, as she began to reintegrate into human society, free from the physical reminders of her time as a Borg drone.

She encountered other freed former drones, Aximo and Kaelara. They asked Naomi to join them and help build their colony so every freed Borg drone can find their individuality and get support from the others.
