Jora Shaxea

Jora Shaxea was born in early 2376 to Bajoran militia officer, and Starfleet officer aboard Deep Space 9 in the wake of the Dominion War. Growing up on the station, Jora was exposed to a wide variety of species passing through and became fascinated with stories of various worlds and their histories, learning several languages at a conversational level by the time she was five. Because of that fascination, she decided at an early age she would follow her mother into Starfleet, hoping to become an engineer aboard a starship.

Although her plans almost suffered a setback with the disappearance and presumed loss of her mother’s starship in the mid-2380s, the encouragement of a friend helped to keep her on course. Although she enrolled in Starfleet Academy in 2394 with the idea of pursuing a medical career, they switched career tracks to engineering.
