Appearance
Renora has a characteristic ridged nose like all Bajorans. Despite her stature of 5 feet 4 inches (162.56 cm), she possesses a commanding presence that belies her height. She stands tall and confident, her posture exuding authority and confidence. She has medium-length blond hair that is commonly tied up and back in a professional style. Her gray eyes reflect a depth of experience and determination, and her uniform is always impeccably neat, reflecting her disciplined nature.
Personality
Commander Day is known for her unwavering commitment to her crew and her ship. She is a natural leader, possessing both charisma and authority, inspiring loyalty and dedication in those under her command. Renora is fiercely protective of her crew, often putting their safety and well-being above her own. She is usually calm and composed under pressure, able to make tough decisions quickly and decisively, however as the Vallejo is her first command she is currently in uncharted territory. She cares deeply for her crew and is not afraid to show empathy and compassion when needed. Renora is also highly intelligent and resourceful, always seeking innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
History
Born on Bajor in the Rakantha Province in 2367, just two years before the Cardassians withdrew from Bajor, Renora grew up during a tumultuous time in Bajoran history. She witnessed firsthand the Cardassian occupation and the struggles of her people for freedom and independence. Inspired by the bravery and resilience of her fellow Bajorans, Renora knew from a young age that she wanted to serve others and make a difference in the galaxy.
Renora’s desire to serve and protect was further fueled by the loss of her father, who was a medical officer in Starfleet and tragically perished during the Dominion War aboard the USS Valley Forge. The experience deepened her commitment to upholding the values of Starfleet and inspired her to follow in her father’s footsteps.
Renora joined Starfleet Academy with a determination to excel, driven by her desire to protect and defend those in need. She proved to be an exemplary student, displaying exceptional leadership skills and a keen intellect. She did struggle in several engineering classes and learned quickly that to succeed at the Academy she needed to rely on the help of others, including her close friend and classmate Arjun Mehta.
After graduating from the academy in 2389, Renora quickly rose through the ranks, earning numerous commendations for her service and leadership.
Her assignments took her to various postings across the Federation, where she distinguished herself as a capable and dedicated officer. Renora’s experience and notably her actions as first officer aboard the USS Nautilus eventually caught the attention of Starfleet Command, leading to her appointment as the commanding officer of the USS Vallejo, a California-Class starship tasked with exploration and diplomatic missions.
